Website Essential If you and your organization don't have updated information and activities on your own website first, then they don't properly exist for discovery. I do a local events search every two weeks. Many significant organizations have done some publicity (printed a flyer which maybe be physically posted somewhere, posted an event on Facebook, emailed to a mailing list) ... that's swell. But I'm doing web searches and going to organization websites to find no updates for months and months. You information and activities don't exist to be easily found, unless they're on your website.
Healthcare Systems Pretty much suck. Almost all the people at Healthcare seem good and caring ... at least those with whom I interact. Once you're an insider, it's not to difficult to get things done. But just try to change anything, and the apple cart is well and truly upset. To get anything “new” happening requires multiple telephone calls, messages left, referrals to others who can't help either. This is part and parcel of my third point today, really.
Delicate Digital We live in such a digital world. From the physical tools we use to access the digital world (for me that's three different computers, two tablets, one phone, three printers, two scanners ... plus any devices my wife uses) to the apps and programs themselves. I'm so hesitant to make changes. Hesitant to add or subtract anything. Why? Because the house of cards so readily topples. A modest-seeming change can cause havoc in unexpected ways. And the current subscription model works only in favor of the vendor. There's no customer benefit I feel derives.
